THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF LOU'S DEATH

Today we remember Lou and one way is to support the Literary Prize that Texas Tech Press established in her name. The Lou Halsell Rodenberger Book Prize in Texas History and Literature has had the first competition and a winner selected by prestigious judges. Initial gifts to the fund permitted awarding the cash prize and now they are looking for about $5000 to pay for the first print run of the book. TTPress fell on hard times when the legislature did not provide state funding. The Press continues to operate with a small staff paid by other funding by the University. Lou has had one paper written about her by a graduate student at TWU where that University honored her by naming the Women's collection in the Library after her.
